Three international airlines fly into Tonga, Air New Zealand, Virgin Australia and Fiji Airlines. Currently no flights operate on a Sunday due to the religious nature of the Kingdom.
Air New Zealand fly directly from Auckland five or six times per week depending on the season. Normally the aircraft is an Airbus A320 but at least one flight per week is a Boing 767 for those who enjoy business class.
The A320 flights offer four options –
- Works deluxe – Premium check in , lounge access in Auckland, a spare seat next to you for more personal space, an additional bag (up to 23kg), full access to all movies and TV during the flight, a meal and beverages.
- The Works- Access to all movies and TV, meal and beveridges and seat request, one checked bag (up to 23kg).
- Seat and Bag – one checked bag (up to 23kg) TV, tea, coffee and water. Snacks available onboard using credit card or pre purchased vouchers.
- Seat Only – one carry on bag only (up to 7kg) . Tea, coffe and water, Snacks available onboard using credit card or pre purchased vouchers.
There are connecting flights from all other countries via Auckland.
Virgin Australia fly directly from Sydney and directly from Auckland on a Tuesday and a Thursday. They operate Boing 737 Aircraft.
Fiji Airlines fly from Nadi and Suva in Fiji five times per week.
