Gentle Giants

When Jane Jefferies from the NZ Herald visited Tonga, she went swimming with migrating humpback whales. She describes being “completely overwhelmed” alongside a 40-tonne pregnant whale with barnacle-encrusted head, and explains the experience of eying each other up.
